Artyard Studio: Class FAQ’s

What Should I Wear?

Students should wear old clothing – you may get muddy – and bring a small hand towel.

What Tools Should I Bring?

Need clay or tools? We stock a variety of high-quality clay and hand tools.

What About Clay?

Beginning students will get to use a basic tools and be given around 20 lbs of clay to get started for a small fee (clay fee payable at registration or on first day).

Additional clay, specialty glazes, tools and tool kits can also be purchased from studio.

*PLEASE NOTE* NO outside clay is to be used in the studio. Damage caused by outside clay and/or glazes will be billable to the student.

Our Philosophy

At Artyard Studio, our philosophy is to make great pottery, easy!

The registration fee covers everything you need to make great art, except the clay. No extra fees for using our hand building specialty tools, firing, or glazing your work up to ten standard size items completed during regular class time. Fees may occur if deemed necessary for larger sized pieces or if the amount of kiln space surpasses our studios student expectation.

We also have a pretty good selection of 8+ glazes to choose from. All standard glazes are lead-free, microwavable, food safe, and mother approved.

Students have access during class time to a studio full of ceramic tools, stamps, wheels, trimming equipment, and great instructors.

We’re friendly, we don’t bite. Our instructors are hear to help you, so please don’t be afraid to ask questions.
